About the opportunity…

As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, and as the leader of the Finance/Accounting Team, this position is responsible to monitor the financial health of the operation.  Specifically:

  • oversee full accounting cycle process
  • reconcile bank statements and maintain procedures for effective cash handling and control
  • process deals, prepare commissions and bonus reports, and assist with processing of payroll
  • reconcile and submit all government, warranty and insurance remittances
  • analyze, reconcile accounts and schedules for the monthly and annual closing; identify and correct accounting inaccuracies and imbalances
  • assist in preparation of the detailed monthly reports, adhering to the dealer’s instructions and the manufacturer’s time frame and format
  • assist in closing month and year ends
  • handle ad hoc reporting requests
  • other related duties may be reasonably assigned in order to assure the smooth operation of the dealership

About you…

Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in managing the finance/accounting operation and department, including:

  • at least two (3) years of accounting experience with a thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, preferably in a dealership/retail automotive environment
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting and/or Finance
  • working knowledge of ERA and/or CDK is an asset
  • experience working with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • the ability to work within strict deadlines
  • the ability to maintain internal controls
  • a strong attention to detail
  • excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • a desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
  • a proven commitment to quality of work
  • team player with a positive attitude and ability to multitask
