About the opportunity…
As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, this position is responsible to perform all tasks related to accounts receivables and payables. Specifically:
Assists the Controller with all accounting activities, such as the cash flow, the preparation of the budget, reviewing of the books of accounts, purchases, fixed assets and insurance.
Perform payroll backup when required
Cooperates with the dealer in long-term planning, cash flow management and the allocation of funds.
Assists Controller with the production of the dealership’s annual report and schedules thereto.
Evaluates the dealership’s financial position and issues regular financial and operating reports.
Keeps in close touch with the public accounting firm, to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and the maintenance of the dealership’s financial structure, in such a way as to derive maximum tax benefits.
Assists with Accounts Payable and Receivable duties.
Complying with Company procedures, will post all Deals (New Car, Used Car, Wholesale & Dealer trade)
Prepares and assists in administering payroll for employees.
Performs bank reconciliation.
Completes Daily Deposit.
Posts/accounts for all invoices from Vendors, including the Manufacturer.
Assists with Auditors and provides them with necessary information.
Analyzes the ledger and the accounts recorded. Notes any unusual entries and verifies them.
Reviews the reconciliation of the accounts in the general ledger with external resources, in order to ensure that the bank reconciliation, the reserve accounts, the accounts payable to the manufacturer and inventory financing are accurate.
Ensures compliance with all government financial regulations, in particular those regarding forms to be completed or kept, consumption taxes and deposits, income tax, pension plan registers, etc.
Ensures that all office employees use appropriate accounting methods and maintain accurate records; analyzes and supervises the preparation of all data for public accountants, with a view to reducing review costs.
Coordinates the annual review and the physical inventory.
Keeps the dealership HR employee files up-to-date.
Performs other duties as required by Management.

About you…
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in accounting administration and processing, including:
1 to 3 years of proven accounting experience
post-secondary education in accounting or finance
proficiency working with ERP systems (ie. CDK/Reynolds)
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
ability to maintain professionalism
ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
a desire to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
